New poll and final week

Well, technically it’s 2 days and then 1 week and then no mo Fox fo me. It’s kind of surreal right now because I have people coming up and saying they’re upset that I am leaving but they understand the situation and are happy for me. It’s nice that people are NOT happy that I’m leaving. It’s the ones that just say congratulations. As in “congrats. It’s about time you left.” Of course, I could be reading too much into that.

I am so excited about the amount of time I am finally going to have to do some creative things that I have been neglecting for almost 4 years. Writing music, drawing, working out on a regular basis. Learning FLASH, CSS even PHP and Ajax.. All these internet things that I have just skimmed the surface of and now I have time to dig deep.

Plus, I get to eat breakfast with my kids. Now that’s pretty cool.

    I think working a 5am to 5pm schedule is no picnic. No matter how fun traffic reporting is (and I don’t mean that sarcastically), I think it’s commendable you split your time between Fox 4 and the RAB for so long.

    I highly doubt anyone would ever say “Congrats. It’s about time you left” to your face and truly mean it. I’ve never heard anyone say anything negative about you or your reporting style. Seriously.

    I’ll miss working with you, but I understand your situation. Sometimes the toughest decisions to make are the ones that are best for ourselves. People may think having breakfast with your boys is a small thing (or worse, a self-centered matter), but it’s a major thing for you and them. A few extra hours in the day to spend with your kids is a precious important thing. They’re young only once, as you know.

    So, best of luck fellow Horned Frog.

    On a side note, after reading that a large portion of the Good Day Gang will or are possibly leaving I don\’t know what news I\’ll be watching now. It just won\’t be the same.
