I’ll Do it Live!

I really dislike Bill O’Reilly. I think he is disingenuous at the very least and this old clip make me giggle.
WARNING: NOT FOR YOUNG EARS- MULTIPLE F BOMBS DROPPED!

Gino Vannelli Video

So I have been producing videos for a long time and back in college in my TV 2 class, we had to produce the latest craze on TV. That’s right, the exciting MUSIC video. What? There’s pictures with my music? How insane! Remember kids, this was back in 1989. Anyway, I put up this music video featuring a Gino Vannelli song (not “Black Cars” but from the same album) on youtube almost a year ago stating that it was an extremely rare,  never-before seen Gino Vannelli music video . And if you watch it, you can tell there was quite a bit of production value and I think it could have played on MTV. Or at least Friday Night Videos. It’s received over 7,000 views and on some of the comments, you can tell that people think this really was a professionally produced video for the band. How cool would it be if Gino saw this and called his label and said, “Hey, why didn’t we release this single? That video is awesome!”

The tall young guy is Loren Lasley, the brother of one of my classmates from back then,  Shaun Lasley. And the guy in bed with the glasses is Shaun’s husband, Monard. Cammie Mitchell was also part of our little group. She and Shaun were seniors at the time and I was just a junior. And I had a secret crush on both of them as well as a huge crush on our starring lady, Elaine Frontain. (I did get to kiss Shaun in another class video project,  but I haven’t had a chance to upload that one yet.)
The video was shot all over the TCU campus including the bedroom scenes which were an elaborate set that included very nice mood lighting IMO. (did you know that one way to portray “night” lighting, you can use blue light even though there really is no blue light at night. Unless the cops are outside, I guess)

For your weekend enjoyment I proudly present: The Other Man.

Do You Hulu?

This is HULU. I tried to embed something from it the other day and it didn’t work unless you were a member. Now it’s supposedly free and you should see a clip of the MAV/NUGGETS game on the NBA’s Top 10.

Blocking The Scene

This video shows a fire dept captain getting arrested for blocking lanes on a highway to help secure an accident scene.
I am almost speechless.

Federal court jurors awarded $17,500 on Wednesday to a fire captain arrested by a Hazelwood police officer in a dispute over where a firetruck was parked during a 2003 car crash rescue.

Juror Betsy Vennemann said after the verdict, “We wanted to make a statement that this kind of behavior will not be tolerated.”

Capt. David Wilson won $7,500 in compensatory damages and $10,000 in punitive damages. Jurors, including a nun, said they went easy on the defendant, Officer Todd Greeves, because he has a family and they weren’t sure who would pay the bill.

Wilson testified that the Robertson Fire Protection District truck was parked in a way to protect rescuers working to free a victim from wreckage along Interstate 270 at McDonnell Boulevard.

Greeves ordered that the truck be moved to accommodate passing traffic and arrested Wilson for ignoring him. Wilson was released after 23 minutes and never charged. He sued, claiming civil rights violations that opened him to anxiety and humiliation.

Greeves told the court the truck was creating a hazard and not adding to safety at the scene.

Jurors interviewed after the verdict said their feeling about Greeves was reinforced during the punitive phase of the trial, when they heard there had been other complaints about him. An internal affairs investigation determined that Greeves used excessive force in a 2002 arrest, court documents show, and was the subject of several other complaints.

Before Wednesday’s deliberations, U.S. Magistrate Judge Mary Ann Medler had already ruled that Greeves had no probable cause to arrest Wilson, who she said had state law on his side. She also dismissed the city of Hazelwood as a defendant.

“The whole police and fire communities have been watching this case,” said Bevis Schock, one of Wilson’s lawyers. “Everybody wanted to know who controls the fire scene.”

Greeves’ lawyer, Peter Dunne, said he was disappointed in the verdict and the discussion of the other complaints against Greeves. Dunne also said it was unfair to suggest that Greeves did not care about the firefighters’ safety.
