Hey, you see that picture over there? That’s what I am doing right now. Holy crap. I started 2 new fitness routines this week. Why 2? Why not! Actually 1 is a cardio program called from Couch Potato to 5k. My eventual goal is a marathon. Now I also started the  Men’s Fitness program week one and it’s got an exercise that includes a step up to the bench while holding dumbbells -40 times per leg!  Yeah, that was a little bit too much. I have been hobbling around like a 95 year old over the past 24 hours.  Turns out, you probably shouldn’t work out when your muscles are sore, duh.

Okay, that didn’t work - I tried using the embedded feature from HULU to post a little clip from WKRP and from the past weekend’s SNL. Now unless you are a HULU subscriber, all you see is a video still image and a frustrating PLAY arrow that doesn’t do anything. I am going to see if I can fix it…

I got an email asking me how my back was after my car accident and I realized that I hadn’t mentioned anything about it lately because… it ended up being no big deal.  That’s right. No drama, no problems getting my car fixed, no hassles with the “hitter’s” insurance (it was Farmer’s Insurance, btw) and no problems with my back or neck. Really quite boring.  In fact, my car has already been repaired. And when the agent from Farmer’s was asking me a series of questions like, “Do you feel any pain in lower back at this time?” or “Are you planning on visiting a doctor in the near future?”, I kept telling her that I realized I was missing my chance for the big check. Sorry, Jim Adler. Didn’t need you this time. You know, if I had really been hurt or hit my head on my head or hit my head or hit my head or hit my head, mxijhwmlituyhs, um, sorry about that,  I would have probably hired a lawyer. But I hate those people who fake their injuries and then try to bilk the insurance companies for hundreds of thousands of dollars. You do realize that money comes out of our premiums, right?

Anyway, it’s all good. Although I do cringe at that stop light whenever I leave work.

Oh, one more thing. I know she’s a cartoon character but I would love to go out with the E-insurance girl.

So, let me share with you a couple of emails that I got over the past few days:

The other morning I was watching Good Day and a story came on about text
messaging and cell phones in school zones.  Todd made a comment that he
had a phone that you could push a button, speak into the phone, and then
it would type a text message and send it to the person where you didn’t
actually have to do it manually.  I was wondering what phone that was.
If you would please send me that information I would love to purchase a
new cell phone that is able to do that. - J

Hi Todd,  I was watching you all this morning and you mentioned you can SPEAK text into your mobile phone?  Please tell me what kind!  I must have one!

Wow, I had no idea that my quick little comment about my phone would spark such interest. Anyway, here is the phone in question.

Pretty cool, huh? See it flips both ways! It’s a Samsung SCH-u740.  And it comes in black or champagne.  Here is the review from CNET and as far as the speak to text feature, you have to spend about 5 minutes talking into the phone and reading off different words so that it “learns” your speech patterns and then when you want to text someone, you simply hold a button down and talk while the phone writes out the message. Usually gets about 75% of the words right and you can easily edit the ones that are wrong. My plan is through Verizon Wireless and I don’t know if any other wireless provider offers a similar phone.
