Longest week ever

  • Maybe it’s because I was out of town but this week has seemed longer than most.
  • I could live in California.  I didn’t say I could afford it. I just said I could handle it. I love seeing the mountains in the distance while driving down the 405.
  • Had my first In-N-Out burger.  Ehh. Kinda bland.  Give me Steak N Shake.
  • Now on that same note, I had my first PinkBerry.  Delicious. Come to Dallas. Please. I’ll pay for it.
  • With my critical on-air eye, I was anxious to see what sort of morning news shows, Los Angeles would have to offer.  Once again, eh.  I was already aware of the local FOX show on LA. And their version of Tim Ryan is not nearly as funny as ours and comes off as a crotchety old guy trying too hard to be hip.  Almost everybody has “HD” helicopters and the traffic folks were concentrating on the fires during the early part of the week. The weather people talkextremelyfastcuzthere’ssomanydifferentareasinLA.   I mean, I can talk fast and but these folks were ripping thru the temps and the forecast and I realized that they had to because of the extreme differences in elevation that could vary the temperatures as much as 20-30 degrees within a relatively small area.
  • I am supposed to get a massage today.  It’s been over a year. I may be in pain afterward.
  • Both boys made As and Bs this past trimester.  Proud parent I am.  Although I know they could get all As if they tried a bit harder.
  • If we give the automakers 25 billion, are we simply putting off the inevitable?
  • A good paperback novel is 10 times better than a magazine on an airplane.
  • Mamma Mia, the movie annoyed me and I like musicals. (It was playing on the plane)
  • Wish I could have gone to see Coldplay this week. I am currently trying to learn their songs on the piano. Some are easy and some are surprisingly tricky.
  • People are enjoying my DVD reviews.  I almost stopped doing them.  It’s amazing what a little bit a feedback will do for you.
  • “Mmmm-mmm-mmm-mmm” by the Crash Test Dummies was voted one of the dumbest songs that ever made the top 20 but I still really like it.
  • I made some soup 2 months ago and froze part of it waiting for winter.  I think I’ll try to thaw it out this weekend.  Mmmm-mmm-mmmm-mmm.
  • Go Frogs. Beat Air Force.  Might go to the game on Saturday.

This week’s interesting link is called ChangeThis.  Interesting ideas provided in an interesting way. Todd says check it out and have good weekend.
