So I normally try to throw a poorly written DVD review based on whatever movie happened to pass thru my Netflix queue over the weekend but this Monday, I would like to sure share with you the greatness that is the show Community Thursdays on NBC.
I was cautiously optimistic about this show because of my leader, Joel McHale of E Channel’s The Soup fame, but I seriously had no idea if he could act with an ensemble and still pull off the funny.
He can and he does. Brilliantly. So I was doing a little research on the cast and I checked out the bio of the lovely Gillian Jacobs. The smart 28 year old dropout with something to prove. (according to the NBC site.)
I figured I would read something about how she had some bit parts in a film or did some prior TV work and maybe had an acting degree from some midwest college.
Um, yeah, she went to Juilliard. As in Juilliard, the school in FAME. My bad, actually LaGuardia Arts was/is the “FAME” school. Although, I feel that Juilliard is more well-known. The one that every talented singer/actor would love to go to in NY . And as I am going through some other bios, it hits me. With a few exceptions, these people are the best of the best. Amazing.
By the way, there is a 2 hour marathon of Community on Monday, December 28th. I say check it out. I think you’ll like it.
Hey there… had a few bugs to work out but I should be back in good shape starting this week.
I am behind on Christmas shopping. Really behind. That’s not good.
I hate being cold. Whenever I get in the car on a cold day, I crank the heat up. Sure, you say, so does everybody else. Yeah but I keep it on way past the point of comfortable for most people. My ex used to look at me and go, “Seriously? It’s a sauna in here.” And I would just be as happy as a clam as I slowly started to sweat.
Speaking of cold, I had a facebook update that I was kind of proud of:
“Cold without snow is like a waffle without syrup. Yeah, I’ll take it. But it could be alot sweeter.”
Going to Six Flags on Sunday. I haven’t really enjoyed Six Flags for a while. Nobody will ride Mr. Freeze with me. Plus I miss the Spindletop.
So my Frogs are going to the Fiesta Bowl. I had a feeling that was going to happen. Not what I wanted exactly but I am excited about it.
No, I am not going. Although, if someone wants to pay for my ticket, I will cover the game for your station/website/radio show, etc.
All this cold weather has me craving to go to Hawaii. I have never been and I would love to spend a week on the beach.
Do people who live on the beach get sick of the beach and say, I would just love to spend a week in Fort Worth sitting on a couch and watch Community and 30 Rock while 2 large dogs pass gas on the floor in front of me?
On 30 Rock last night, one of Jenna’s new cast-mates started singing and she got so jealous her nose started to bleed. Made me laugh out loud.
Last week on 30 Rock, this clip made me laugh. Watch for how people look in the HD camera:
oh and I landed another acting gig. Just when I think I should stop auditioning, I get one.
It never fails. Whenever I fill in for Chip on Fox something big happens in traffic. I have never seen so many flames ON THE HIGHWAY. It looked like a scene from The Terminator. We kept waiting for Arnold to come walking out.
And then when there was just two strips of fire, I almost said that police were looking for Delorean and a wild-haired scientist.
I don’t mind it being cold if it snows. That’s a bonus. But cold just by itself is not my style.
Without my contacts in, I can see print in font size 6 at midnight, 2 inches from my face. But with them in, forget it. I may have to invest in some reading glasses. Or just go with one contact. If you see me looking like Popeye, you’ll know which way I went.
Bought a fleece lined hoody at Old Navy for $20 this week. It is, and I quote, freakin’ warm.
My water pressure suddenly dropped down last night and my backyard is wet. Think there might be a correlation there? I must have horrible pipes in the 10 year old house.
My goal is to sell enough stuff on ebay to buy a new laptop computer. It’s a lofty goal.
Anxiously awaiting where TCU might play their BCS bowl. If it’s in New Orleans, I’m thinking road trip!
Speaking of TCU, I had no idea that college football coaches could make so much money. Been worth it for the frogs though…
Tiger is now a Cheetah. Think anybody will heckle him on the tour next year?
I have had 2 auditions and 1 callback in the last week. Time for me to make some Christmas money! Wish me luck….er, make that break a leg!
